Lensmaster Treasures-By-Brenda Interview

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What makes you passionate about Squidoo.com?

Treasures-By-Brenda: I love connecting with people from all around the world who are friendly, positive and excited about what they are doing here at Squidoo.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Is Squidoo perfect already or what could make it better?

Treasures-By-Brenda: I cannot imagine anything that is perfect (well, maybe my husband) but I believe that the people behind the scenes are always striving to make Squidoo a better place.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What inspires you to make a new lens?

Treasures-By-Brenda: My first lens, VHS Video Tapes, A Collector's Guide, was created to share knowledge that I had acquired on the subject and to promote my eBay business but I have been quickly drawn into making lenses regardless of whether or not I can relate them to my business. Now, I am trying to do a mix of lenses that are either promotional or fun or both.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: How many lenses do you have?

Treasures-By-Brenda: I have ten lenses although my Canada Post one I consider a bit of a mistake as it targeted too specific an audience in Canada. I may delete it yet.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What is your most popular lens?

Treasures-By-Brenda: My most popular lens is definitely Your Life Sentence — Six Word Quotations. It is based on a book entitled, Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six-Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure, and I hope that the book is doing very well because the lens is very popular!

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What one sentence or one word describes your success?

Treasures-By-Brenda: I wanted to write a six-word sentence to answer this question but I thought of this line from The Beatles and it was perfect with regard to my ‘success’ on Squidoo. I could not have done it without them…

I get by with a little help from my friends.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What should a newbie do first?

Treasures-By-Brenda: I think a Newbie should start creating a DRAFT lens on a subject that they are passionate about and, while creating it, READ. READ. READ. There is so much to learn!

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Which of your lenses do you want to make sure the whole world knows about?

Treasures-By-Brenda: Your Life Sentence — Six Word Quotations. Everyone should take a moment to think about their life. The process of thinking about where you are and what you have done is rewarding – whether you come up with something poignant or not. I did not write a poignant quote and think that mine is rather ordinary, but reading quotes from the book brought me to this one:

"Fourteen years old, story still untold."

I think it is beautiful because of where I am at in my life. My sons are fourteen and sixteen and for them this quote is absolutely, positively true. They have their whole lives ahead of them!
