On Writing

Having been on the Internet for 13 years, the most important lesson I have learned is that content is king. No matter how cliche that may sound to others, it is the truth. The truth in three little words.

It's my conclusion beyond any doubt that the key to your success will always be the quality of your content. Wherever you add content online, through your blogs, your lenses, your hubs, and etc., quality of content should be your main concern.

You may be surprised that you can build a name for yourself online. And the best way that I have found is to write.

Write about what moves you, write a first-person story. Write a story of fiction. Review products, write recommendations. Choose topics that concern you. Write about a cause. Donate a portion of your earnings to the cause. Be a giver.

Sow the seeds of good writing, and you won't be able to help making yourself known. The fruits of your labors could be the sales of recommended products, a job offer, or just the plain old satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference.

I say that anyone can write. If you've ever written an email, you're a candidate as a writer. No one can say it like you can. You are unique and your individuality will shine through your own efforts as a writer.

As with all things worthwhile, writing takes work. Do it, and you may find the author within, the author you had no clue of! Give yourself a chance. Especially if you feel the burning desire to write and make a difference with your words.

You don't have to be looking to be the next JK Rowling or the next Hawthorne. Creativity can be satisfying by just being the best writer that you can be.

Keep learning and growing…
