We Are Squidoorati!

Featured in AlltopAfter having done some asking around the other day to see what those not affiliated with us think about Squidoo, I found that it seems to be that the pervading perception is STILL that Squidoo is for spammers! Well, knowing what great lenses Squidooers produce, that just didn't sit well with me. So, I submitted Squidoo to Alltop.com's founder, Guy Kawasaki. He has been communicating with me through the weekend, and I am now very proud to say that there is a whole new internet site out there right now that showcases the amazing lenses built at Squidoo: Squidoorati.alltop.com! Unexpected, is an Acknowledgment and a section for my Teach Children Character lens. For that, I am humbled and grateful. Thanks again, Guy! And a big, big thank you to Seth Godin for giving Squidoorati the green light!

Folks, go check out Squidoorati! If you find yourself featured, grab yourself a badge (there are smaller ones than the big and happy shout-out one you see here :D). Tell me what you think about Squidoorati. If you like it, make sure to spread the word about it!

O my goodness - I'm on there with "Christmas at AJs". How did that get there? Who decided? We need to know!

AJ, if I am not mistaken, if you are a Top-100 lensmaster, you will find yourself to be in the elite listings at Squidoorati Alltop at certain points in time: When you post a Squidcast AND you are in the Top 100 of a category, your 'cast places you in the Top 5 of that category.

Lets let this be a warning to us all: Squidcasting should stay as a means to deliver quality information about important changes to a lens. Let's don't start writing about every typo we fixed so that we can get in the Top 5 at Squidoorati. That would defeat the purpose and make the Squidcaster (and Squidoo) look unprofessional. We can also use this as an opportunity to create better, more compelling Squidcasts!

I could not agree more. Swamping fans and followers with Tweets and Squidcasts about changing one tiny typo is not the way to go about winning friends and influencing people!

Thanks for the explanantion Mimi and THANK YOU & a huge virtual hug for providing everyone with the opportunity to get more exposure as well as show the world that Squidoo is not what they think it is! Spam indeed!

Well, I've finally found some time to hop in and check your blog. Also took a look at Squidoorati Alltop. Rather like a magazine rack hits CraigsList with the listings. You know, I've not sent a SquidCast in what seems like eons.

Thanks for dropping by my blog to say hello -- sure do appreciate it. Finding or should I say making more time to do blog posts. ;)

Oh! A new word invented for Squidoo! I gotta go add it to my lens on that topic. What FUN!!!

Great idea -- thank you soooo much for spearheading this. One more reason to love Squidoo and the community.

Aren't you on top of things? How nifty!
Imagine my surprise when I found my BLOG on the homeschooling page? I had no idea this site even existed. I snagged a badge right up. :-)

As far as the Squidoo page, thanks for the tips about squidcasting. I almost NEVER do that.

Lenses are chosen based on when they were last updated, not when they sent out a SquidCast. If a lens has not sent out a cast yet, then the text from the Introduction will be shown instead.

Yes, I figured that out -- at first, all I was seeing were Squidcasts. Just blogged about it a few minutes ago. Hopefully, that'll clear it up for most folk. :) ...Thanks for coming over. Stop in more often!
