Squidoo Lens Reviews: What makes you passionate about Squidoo.com?

Susan52: I truly am passionate about Squidoo and I think that's because of the hands-on approach of Seth and Megan and the rest of the Squidoo crew. We know them. They stay in touch. They stay involved. Squidoo has real people who actually care about what goes on. Squidoo isn't just an offshoot of a corporation who may or may not respond when problems arise. Even Seth pops in on the forum from time to time as well as leaves comments on lenses, and it's obvious that he's totally committed to Squidoo and the lensmasters. Indeed, the head Squid with the famous head has a huge heart!

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Is Squidoo perfect already or what could make it better?

Susan52: Nobody's perfect, but when it comes to support and managed growth, Squidoo's as good as it gets, in my opinion.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What inspires you to make a new lens?

Susan52: Oh, my, what doesn't? I could sit down with a magazine or a newspaper, listen to the radio or observe billboards on a drive and make a very long list of lens ideas, and I've never been a hugely creative person! Squidoo has brought out my creativity to a degree I would have never imagined. I just wish I didn't have to sleep!

Susan52: I have 67 published lenses and several in various stages of development.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What is your most popular lens?

Susan52: My Kindle lens is my highest-ranking lens with mostly off-Squidoo traffic, followed closely by my Squidoo Somebody lens, which is designed for the Squidoo community.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What one sentence or one word describes your success?

Susan52: Two words: "In progress."

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What should a newbie do first?

Susan52: I would suggest that a newbie take some time to study Squidoo. Devour at least 50 existing lenses, both high-ranking and low-ranking lenses. Take notes about what you like, about what appeals to you about the lenses you like, what you didn't care for and why, about the different types of presentations lensmasters use, about modules that make you say, "How did they do that?" and "I want to do this, too." Take in the flavors and the personalities and the possibilities! Then, make a lens on your topic, incorporating the best of the best ideas but with your own personality applied.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Which of your lenses do you want to make sure the whole world knows about?

Susan52: Nurturing Imagination is my favorite and most important lens. It's about encouraging creative play in children which, I think, leads to brighter, happier children and more productive adults. There's a touch of nostalgia in that one for me, too!
